CharityMania Sports Success Story
How can a CharityMania fundraiser benefit your Youth Sports Team/League? Read below to find out!
Problem
The athletic committee of a youth baseball little league in Florida met to discuss the challenges their league was facing for the upcoming season. They all agreed that their baseball fields were in need of repair, their teams needed new equipment and practicing under the lights at night was becoming cost prohibitive. In these tough economic times, the athletic committee couldn’t ask the league for money, so they began researching different little league fundraising ideas to help offset their sports operation costs.
Goal
The safety of the baseball players in the league was the athletic committee’s main priority. Raising money to practice at night would have to wait until next year. So they looked for unique sports fundraising options to raise money for new athletic equipment and to repair their weathered baseball fields. The athletic committee estimated it would take about $25000 to begin making their league improvements and that each team in their 10-team league would need to fundraise approximately $2500.
Solution
The little league committee searched online for profitable sports team fundraising options and landed on the CharityMania website. The athletic committee was intrigued by the BaseballMania fundraiser and thought it would be a great way for the teams in their league to raise money. After contacting CharityMania with their questions, they knew this exciting fundraiser, based on professional baseball, was the perfect fundraiser for their little league. They couldn’t wait to get started.
Fundraiser Selection
They selected BaseballMania because the little league was tired of doing the traditional types of candy and pizza fundraisers. BaseballMania was exciting, different, and was a more sophisticated fundraiser that could appeal to wider market. The little league committee knew upfront exactly how much each baseball team would need to sell to hit their fundraising goal and they could do it by targeting people both inside and outside their little league baseball network.
Results
The little league made $14 in profit with each BaseballMania sale. They promoted the fundraiser to all the families within the league, all their local businesses and restaurants and during each baseball game at their fields. The little league generated so much excitement with the fundraiser that each team was able to make over 200 sales. In their 10-team league, that meant that the league made over 2000 sales and were able to exceed their $25,000 fundraising goal by over $3,000!
Customer Feedback
“We were so excited to have found CharityMania on the web. They offer the perfect type of sports fundraisers for our little league. We felt comfortable working with them knowing that they have been helping youth sports teams and baseball little leagues like us for over 16 years. Our little league was very happy with our fundraising results and many members of our league are having fun playing along with the fundraiser each week. The BaseballMania fundraiser gave us the means to fix our baseball fields and to provide new equipment for each team in our league. Now we can’t wait for next year’s fundraising season…and the opportunity to shed some much needed light on our practicing players!”
CharityStudio music downloads
Why sell music downloads? Why not just use the sweepstakes game cards?
There is a legal difference between a sweepstakes and a raffle. In a raffle, people pay money for a raffle ticket that gives them a chance to win prizes. Only specific types of organizations can conduct a raffle and states strictly regulate how the raffles can operate. A sweepstakes is not a raffle. A sweepstakes is a promotion that provides extra incentive for people to buy a product or service that you are selling. The sweepstakes must have a ‘no purchase necessary’ method of entry. In a CharityMania fundraiser, the sweepstakes game cards are for promotion only and are not sold directly. Every time someone buys a CharityMania Ticket, they purchase over $20 worth of premium music downloads from our
CharityStudio
. The sweepstakes game card is the promotion that provides a great extra incentive for a person to support your cause.
Our Sweepstakes Game Cards work much like the game pieces in the Monopoly sweepstakes at McDonald’s. You can not buy a Monopoly game piece directly. Instead, you purchase things like hamburgers and drinks and receive the game pieces for free. The Monopoly game pieces are a promotion.
No purchase necessary sweepstakes:
All CharityMania sweepstakes are “no purchase necessary”. If someone wants a free sweepstakes game card, they can come to your organization and fill out a request form (provided by CharityMania) to get a free Game Card. They mail the completed request form to CharityMania along with a self-addressed stamped envelope and then we will mail the person a game card. We do not mail them the access code that allows people to download the digital music (because they are not paying). This process is very standard for all companies that conduct sweepstakes.
